In 1932, Samer & Co. Shipping Ltd. was nominated agents of Lloyd's of London for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region which at that time included also the Istria and the port of Rijeka (now Croatia). The company have thus developed a line of activity as claim and setting agents, in her capacity as Lloyd's Agents, and independently for a long list of cargo underwriters. Sister companies in Slovenia, Serbia, Albania and Montenegro have also been appointed as Lloyd's Agents. The field of activity includes also Hull, Machinery and Container surveys on behalf of Hull Underwriters of various nations but mainly for the for the Salvage Association of London.
The Hull section cares also for yachts and leisure boats and our surveyors are prepared to proceed to all the Marinas and yacht harbours of our coast. In accordance with the instructions given by Lloyd's of London Samer also deals with pre-shipment surveys on all kind of goods and can inspect containers and vessels' holds to determine whether fit to carry certain cargoes. Last, but not least, the agency undertakes recovery actions on behallf of cargo or car underwriters against carriers or other parties all over Italy. Samer & Co. Shipping Ltd. is appointed Lloyd's Agents for Trieste, Koper, Bar, Durres and Belgrade.
